I've been looking for a record of my existence
Something that says that I am alive
Why look anywhere else but the Midwestern summer
It's the biggest part of me, there is no other
I have been seeking low and high
Turning every grain of sand into a monolith
I've been filled with faith and doubt, but never holding fast
Throwing my hands into the air, hoping storms would pass
When the dust rises high and we can't escape the sun
The music starts to play and I know we've just begun
We've all come together in the most unlikely way
Setting our distinctions aside for today
All our differences seem like problems on their own
But they make us greater than we can be alone
There's no single answer to all of our problems
But we can still work together to solve them
We didn't do one thing wrong to lead us to this end
We can't do just one thing right to start again
Wind blowing through my hair
Grass underneath my feet
Living through endless summers
Is all I need
When I breathe deep and let go, let this life breathe into me
What I have been looking for is the simple act of being
